20 Years Together

The following is an article taken from The Samworth Standard, Issue No.78 July 2015

Samworth Brothers prides itself on its long-term relationships with its suppliers, and P H Hull & Sons Ltd, based in Melton Mowbray is no exception. In May the company celebrated 20 years of working with Samworth Brothers. Here we talk to Robert Hull, Managing Director, P H Hull & Sons about this.

Q. Haw many of our sites do you work with?

With all 12 sites in Leicester and Melton Mowbray, dealing with their waste and recycling.

Q. Describe your relationship in three words?

Evolving, successful and proud.

Q. What have been the highlights over the last 20 years?

Becoming the sole waste management provider for all 12 Leicestershire sites in 2001 and achieving zero landfill for all Leicester and Melton Mowbray sites in 2010.

Q. How have things changed over the last 20 years?

The whole mindset towards waste and recycling has changed and Samworth Brothers has been at the forefront of this. A new online compliance portal we developed for Samworth Brothers will help manage future waste and recycling even more efficiently.

Q.How has working with Samworth Brothers helped your business?

Our own business has grown alongside Samworth Brothers’ trernendous expansion over the last 20 years. We have created new jobs and doubled our transport fleet to keep up.

Q.How has the relationship with Samworth Brothers strengthened?

Through long-term relationships and getting involved in supporting your charity activities. We often donate our skips to local projects at schools and community centres and we took part in the 2013 and 2015 Charity Challenges.

Q. How did you do in this year's Charity Challenge?

Team Nothing Wasted which I was part of, entered the Elite category and came fourth against some very tough competition. Even better we raised over £10,000 for Oxfam.
