80 years of Recycling Excellence

π Proud to be a progressive and expanding family business! π
At P.H. Hull & Sons, we are truly proud of our rich heritage and the journey we've embarked upon to reach where we are today—and even more excited about where we strive to be in the future! β¨π
For four generations, our core focus was on the removal of food by-products, starting with a humble horse & cart and evolving into our grandfather's first lorry in 1940, dedicated to collecting materials from schools and restaurants. ππ
Over the years, we've witnessed significant shifts in the industry, such as the outbreak of foot & mouth in 2001, which led to disallowing food waste with ABP (animal by-products) from being fed to livestock. This pivotal moment compelled us to adapt our business model. π‘
Today, any non-ABP food is recovered for animal feed, while ABP's are carefully transported to pet food production, anaerobic digestion, or composting. πΆπ±
Building on our expertise and commitment to sustainability, we expanded our scope beyond food recovery in 2007, venturing into other recycling streams. Our dedicated team worked closely with customers to develop tailored solutions, allowing us to fully recover the true value of various products. πͺπ
The result? A steady growth in all areas, from handling card, paper, metal, plastic, wooden pallets, to oils and even hazardous waste. β»οΈ
A cornerstone of our success has been our incredible team—committed, motivated, and passionate about their work. Some team members have been with us for over 20 years, and their hard work, technical abilities, and excellent customer service have been vital in maintaining continued expansion. π₯π
As we reflect on our journey, we are deeply grateful for the relationships we've built with customers, large and small, across the UK. Our dedication to providing a high-quality, family-run service has earned us their trust, and we intend to continue this tradition for many years to come. π€π¬π§
