New baler to increase recycling at Walker & Sons
Walkers & Son have accepted delivery of a new baler this month, financed as part of the contract by PH Hull & Sons.
Samworth Brothers group are driving environmental initiatives under the 4R plan and as part of the 4R plan each Samworth Brother site receives an external waste audit. The 2016 audit for Walkers & Son was conducted in conjunction with PH Hull & Sons in April and one of the recommendations was to drive forward an increase in plastic film and rigid plastic recycling. The site already achieves a commendable 91% recycling rate, however Walker & Sons are focused on continuing to improve the recycling rate and have welcomed the new baler as a tool to aide them to do that.
