We Help Samworth Brothers Achieve Zero Waste To Landfill

At P. H. Hull & Sons, we are proud to have helped our valued client, Samworth Brothers to achieve zero “waste-to-landfill” across all nine of their food bakeries.
Initially acquiring their custom back in 1998, we worked closely with Samworth Brothers to achieve a common goal; to bring all waste management services across all sites under the same roof, providing a consistent and efficient waste management service that could be constantly monitored and approved upon.
Shortly after the task was set, the segregation of packing materials was soon implemented, separating plastics, cardboard, foil, tins and wooden pallets across all sites.
Upon meeting this initial target, the segregation process was heightened once more, focusing on food wastes, each of which were separated and processed by dedicated compactors. Cooking oils were also separated prior to their collection.
Over 16 years on, the waste management process for every site has become so streamlined, that the business as complete entity is now able to boast an astounding, zero waste-to-landfill record.
Subsequently, Samworth Brothers have since been nominated for the prestigious “2nd Degrees Champions Award 2014”, the ultimate recognition for those businesses “driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of sustainable business”.
